TSA UCL Background & Research
Why use TSA UCL?
Cambridge Assessment provides research-led and evidence based solutions for major higher education institutions. Most applicants to UCL will be equally highly qualified. There are more applicants onto popular courses than there are places. UCL has therefore identified the need for an additional method to identify candidates' suitability and potential for success. The TSA is not subject specific, and so the scores can be used across a wide range of subjects.
Background
UCL are piloting the TSA and its first administration took place in December 2008.

Research
Cambridge Assessment is committed to ensuring that the tests it develops are fair and fit for purpose. Therefore Cambridge Assessment collects data on students who have taken the TSA to explore the relationship between TSA scores and many other factors, such as subsequent degree performance, educational history, gender, demographic details etc.
Research materials are all based on TSA Cambridge data. The first administration of TSA at UCL took place from December 2008 - March 2009.
